1950’s Red Pontiac Outside the Casa of Beny and Roberto Santa Clara Cuba
Beny and Roberto run an excellent casa in the city of Santa Clara in Cuba and they own a very old red Pontiac. If you are visiting Cuba staying in a casa is the best way of meeting the real Cuban people. You can see more of our Cuban photos on our Flickr site, just search for Junagarh or on our website http://www.junagarhmedia.co.uk.
Rolls Royce Spirit of Ecstasy – 2013 Stony Stratford Classic Car Show
I took this photo at the 2013 Stony Stratford Classic Car Show. It is always a great show and well attended and on this June the 2nd day we had great weather as well. The picture of the front has the Flying or Silver Lady or Emily as it is known on it and this bonnet ornament carries an interesting history. The second Baron Montagu of Beaulieu commissioned a sculpture for his 1910 Rolls Royce and he asked Charles Robinson Sykes to use Eleanor Velasco Thornton as the model. John Walter the second baron had fallen in love with Eleanor back in 1902 but he was already married and apart from that she was from a lower class. That still stops individuals getting together today, something I hate. Unfortunately Eleanor died in 1915 when the ship, the SS Persia was sunk by a U-boat. She had been travelling to India with John Walker who was being sent there to take over a command. A sad story. Photograph copyright Junagarh Media, http://www.junagarhmedia.co.uk.
Do we really care if past it David Beckham was shaken up?
The news seems to be full of how our now past it former England football captain, and did he really take England to that much glory, driving a big fat pig Audi crashed into a tiny car that looks really damaged. In that car was at least one unnamed human being who could be your father, your mother, your son, your daughter or another member of your family or a good friend and it may be that they were a lot more than just shaken up by having been driven into by a huge lump of German steel. I would like to know if the person or people driving that little car are alright because they are just as valuable if not more so than an old footballer.
